Prayer regarding the Supremacy of Christ
God I came humble before you in complete joy because you have come and revealed Yourself to the world and have used us who believe on your name to run errands for your Kingdom. We have proclaimed that Jesus is supreme, by Your Word you reveal your Son Himself to us and Yourself that you are the Ancient of Days. You are the same God with Moses and Joshua and still with us. You have been with us through heartbreak and anguish, healing and rescuing us again and again and again. You hear us God, no other god or leader is closer. You kept your promise when you prophesied through Isaiah to a weary exiled nation of your coming, the living water in a dry wilderness. The joy of Your church and people is you’re coming again. What comfort is gained to know this isn’t all there is. We won’t be trapped forever in the things that grieve us. What other god or leader comes to meet us in our wilderness to comfort and nourish? What god or leader has a prophecy produced? Who can say they are a righteous judge like the LORD? Who can rightly exalt himself but the LORD? Who can exalt the lowly and weak and help them fight giants but the LORD? When anxiety and fears grip our minds and hearts as God whispers his plans, and life throws unknowns we are invited to come to God. Come to God the supreme King of all, who lives from death, seated above every ruler and authority, power and title forever. So we build our lives on YOU and Your Kingdom God and not the quaking fears and anxieties of this life. What you have created you will sustain and I am your creation, God. Your life and Spirit live in me. Will you forsake your very breath? Will you forsake Yourself? For the sake of Your name you lead me out of troubles, and strengthen me through fires of testing, purified to be fit for the Kingdom forever. Forgive me of my worries and anxieties that tend to diminish truth and forget who you are. Forgive me of my doubts and allowing things to rule my emotions that shouldn’t. Give me faith to trust what you say. You have all the power God. Thank you for all the gifts my hands hold, for the work you entrust me to accomplish, for the music you sing in my ear, the rest you give to the glory and honor of your name, in the name of Jesus Christ the Son who hears this prayer. Amen.
